What Makes Breast Ultrasound at URPrecious Imaging So Special?

When it comes to your breast health, not all ultrasound experiences are created equal. At URPrecious Imaging, we've built a practice around one core belief: you deserve more than a scan. You deserve answers, clarity, and care that truly sees you.

So what exactly sets our breast ultrasound apart? Let's break it down.

A Combination You Won't Find Just Anywhere

At URPrecious Imaging, we offer two types of breast ultrasound that work together to give you the most complete picture of your breast health:

  • 3D breast ultrasound with AI

  • 2D breast ultrasound with color Doppler and elastography

Both are interpreted by a fellowship-trained breast imaging radiologist — with same-day results. No waiting. No uncertainty lingering for days.

"Same-day results mean you walk out knowing — not wondering."

The Technology Behind Our 3D Ultrasound

Our 3D imaging uses the GE Invenia ABUS 2.0 — a system specifically designed for women with dense breasts. Its 15-centimeter transducer automatically scans the entire breast from edge to edge, reconstructing the data into a full three-dimensional image.

Think of it this way: traditional imaging gives you a snapshot. Our 3D system gives you the whole story.

To make that story even clearer, we pair it with Qview CAD — an AI software that flags areas of concern for the radiologist. This isn't AI replacing a doctor. It's AI partnering with a specialist to make interpretation more thorough and more confident for you.

One of the biggest advantages of automated 3D ultrasound? It removes operator dependency. With traditional 2D ultrasound, the quality of the scan can vary based on the individual performing it. Our 3D system delivers consistent, comprehensive coverage every single time.

Why We Still Use 2D Ultrasound — And Why It Matters

If 3D is so powerful, why do we still use 2D? Because they offer something different — and together, they offer something better.

2D ultrasound gives us a real-time, hands-on understanding of your breast tissue. During your scan, I am personally standing beside you, scanning carefully and making sure every region is evaluated — including your axilla (armpit), an area the automated 3D system may not fully reach.

"Together, 3D and 2D don't compete — they complete each other."

Our 2D scans also incorporate color Doppler imaging, which allows us to assess blood flow within the breast tissue. This helps us:

  • Differentiate between a simple fluid-filled cyst and a solid mass

  • Identify blood flow patterns that may suggest a malignant lesion

  • Monitor how a lesion responds to treatment over time

Elastography: A Smarter Way to Assess Lesions

Shear wave elastography is one of the most powerful tools in our practice — and one that many imaging centers simply don't offer.

Here's the simple science: elastography measures the stiffness of a lesion by sending sound waves into the tissue and analyzing how they travel. Stiff tissue slows them down. Soft tissue lets them pass more freely.

Why does this matter?

  • Soft lesions are typically benign

  • Stiff lesions are more likely to be concerning

This information allows us to guide you to exactly the right level of care. If a lesion is soft and benign, we can save you from unnecessary biopsies, follow-up visits, or anxiety. If something is stiff and suspicious, we help you act quickly — so you are never delaying care that matters.

"Elastography helps us say: you're fine — or, we need to move on this. No guessing."

The Experience: Wholesome, Insightful, and Truly Patient-Centered

Beyond the technology, what our patients tell us again and again is that the experience itself is what makes URPrecious different.

Our goal is simple: every patient who walks into our clinic should walk out with complete clarity about their breast health — whether everything is normal, a benign condition has been identified, or something needs further attention. We want you to leave informed, reassured, and never left guessing.

That's not just our mission statement. It's why we do what we do every day.

And it's why we named our practice URPrecious. Because to us, you truly are.

No Referral? No Mammogram? No Problem.

We believe access to quality breast imaging should be straightforward. That's why you can come to URPrecious Imaging without a referral from another physician — we make it easy to take charge of your own health.

We can also serve you without a prior mammogram, though we do strongly encourage combining both when possible. Ultrasound and mammography together detect a wider range of breast cancer presentations than either test alone. But we meet you where you are — and we start there.
